SWE PPS NOVEMBER 30th Meeting with UCCS - Meet Your Mentor

Please join SWE-PPS and the student section of SWE at UCCS for a ‘Meet Your Mentor' program. UCCS SWE President Nadine Sundquist is expecting a number of potential new SWE student members to attend. We would like to pair PPS members with UCCS members for mentoring.

Date: November 30th
Time: 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Location: UCCS Campus: University Center 126.
Parking: Recommend parking garage level # 3. There is some paid visitor parking there ($1.50 per hour). You can get a map of the campus at http://www.uccs.edu/map.html . On that map, the parking garage is #34.
Light refreshments provided.

Mentoring can be as simple as letting the student call or email you once in a while. Or you can get to know your student by taking them to SWE events or out for coffee. Keep in mind that Region I Conference is at School of Mines in Boulder this year. PPS is already planning to carpool with UCCS members - another mentoring opportunity. Typical topics that students like to discuss with mentors include how to network, job hunting, interviewing, dress codes at work, and what it's like to work as an engineer.

Please plan to attend, introduce yourself, and bring along business cards! We'll run it like a mixer, so you won't have to ‘get up and speak' formally.
