An awesome opportunity to share E-Week with students is fast approaching: Cool Science!
Date: Friday, February 17, 2006
Time: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Place: Turman Elementary
This program makes math and science the focus of an entire day at Turman Elementary School and involves every child and teacher at the school. The Cool Science Day urgently needs assistance for explaining and monitoring hands on activities to emphasize the nurturing of science exploration.
Due to the nature of the school's service area, no parent volunteers are available to help with this exciting activity. Volunteers will be responsible for helping children experience hands-on Chemistry, Earth Science and Physics exhibits created by Cool Science. The day will be focused on creating a level of excitement and energy around science, as well as a sense that science applies to every child's every day life and is understandable.
10-15 v olunteers are needed.
Any individuals wanting to act as "ROOM CAPTAINS" and assist in training other volunteers should be available Thursday evening around 5:30 pm in addition to the hours stated above. Cool Science is a local non-profit organization dedicated to bringing scientific fun to the Pikes Peak region.
To volunteer, contact Lizzy at 389-6431 or lizzy@coolscience.org .
