Engineers Make a World of Difference – 2006 Engineers' Week

Help us celebrate and spread the word about engineering! SWE is the national society sponsor of Engineers' Week 2006 (February 19-25) and the SWE-PPS section is planning our community's annual dinner.

We are also in the process of planning an event for “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day” on Thursday, February 23, 2006 inviting middle school girls to learn about engineering at activities along the Garden of the Gods corridor. Another observance idea we've discussed is coffee house get-togethers to support women pursuing math, science and engineering entitled “Coffee, Tea or ‘E'”.

If these ideas appeal to you, if you have other ideas to share, or you'd like a casual lunchtime opportunity to bond with other female engineers, please attend our E-week planning lunches—the 2nd Wednesday of each month through February 2006 at La Baguette on Chestnut and Garden of the Gods. Please contact Angela Howard at angela_howard@alum.wustl.edu for more details.
